I keep trying to improve myself — be a better mother, be more organized, keep up on my scrapbooking, be more environmentally friendly, etc — but for every step I take forward, I seem to end up taking two back. And like former alcoholics are “recovering,” not “recovered,” I am a “recovering” procrastinator. That tendency will always be there; I just have to keep fighting it. I created this blog to document those efforts but over time it has become about anything and everything that interests me at that moment. For Lent, I put the focus back on fighting procrastination and hope to keep it there for a while.
I used to work nights as a newspaper editor and take care of the kids during the day but I lost my job in July 2009. So for now, I’m a stay-at-home-mom to Grace, 5; Connor, 3; and baby Ellie. I don’t feel like I’m a very good SAHM and I’m not sure that I want to continue being “just” that.
