We attempted two outings this weekend. Friday we went to the Minnesota History Center with a free Museum Adventure Pass. (They are available at local libraries and good at 22 Twin Cities locations.) The pass was not good for the special exhibit, Vatican Splendors, which we wanted to see. It is$20 per person and strollers are not allowed, so we skipped it. We saw the MN150 exhibit, which was kind of interesting but the kids were crabby and made it a bit of a difficult trip.
The next day we went to Dodge Nature Center for an apple program. I thought it ran all day and was a come-and-go thing, but it started at 10 and after that no dice. So we just walked around the grounds, saw the apiary, some apple trees, a small prairie, the farm area and a pond. It was still a good trip thanks to beautiful weather. And it was free, unlike the apple program. Grace didn’t seem to mind missing out on the apple orchard tour, but she did miss the promised apple cider. So we bought some at Cub on the way home, after buying a Halloween costume for Grace at Goodwill.
